CONTROL GEAR FOR HIGH PRESSURE
DISCHARGE LAMPS – IGNITORS

The digital gears for disturbance free use.

At the end of lamp life Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium lamps will inevitably cause RFI. The lamp burns for a minute and then switches off, until the lamp fails fully or is changed. Tridonic time ignitors cure this problem by turning off after 2 or 3 failed lamp ignition cycles.

The older timed ignitors switched off the lamps after a defined time period. These ignitors could not consider the re-ignition times due to the lamp temperature. For every lamp type there has been a special ignitor required.

The solution: The ASIC-PulseControl does not rely on the re-ignition phases, but measures the re-ignition attempts independent of lamp temperature and type. The ignitor will automatically switch off after 3 failed attempts. Therefore only one ignitor is required for all lamp types.
